Hailing from the sprawling metropolis of strip malls and cow farms that is Abbotsford BC is Loans. Comprised of members Alex, Corey, Nitya, and Nic, the 4 piece has been playing together and recording a consistently impressive string of releases since 2016. Giving off a vibe that is simultaneously thoughtful and effortless, their music is full of clean and bright exuberance and the perfect dose of ear-wormy guitar hooks. Drawing comparisons to acts like Wire, Television, and The Gun Club, Loans has a little something for everyone. Their forthcoming EP Have a Nice Day Somewhere Else will be their first release on Dead Soft’s new imprint Westerly Records and will be out everywhere on May 10th, 2024. The lead single and accompanying video ‘Carport’ will be available to stream this Friday, April 12th. About the track lead singer Alex Smith says, “Carport is probably the most positive song I’ve ever written, and it was by design. Deep in the existential crisis of quarantine, I just wanted to write a love letter to friends and the simple joy of just hanging out in the carport and to say "everythings gonna be alright, eventually".
